Cholesterol-lowering benefits of Broccoli

Broccoli has cholesterol-lowering benefits. When we cook it by boiling the fiber of it does not destroyed. But this fiber of broccoli can bind together with bile acids in our digestive tract thought they've been steamed. At the time of  binding process, it becomes easier for bile acids to be excreted, as a  result of it, lowering of our cholesterol levels is occurred. But raw broccoli has lower cholesterol-lowering capability.

Nutrients Present In Maize Or Corn

Nutrients Present In Maize Or Corn

Maize or Corn is an Agronomic crop. In many countries maize or corn is used as a main food from ancient time. Maize is very important than any other cereal crops which is used as main food. Maize contains more vitamins and mineral than rice and wheat. Maize and ground dried maize is used as staple food. To produce pozole, tortillas, atole and tamales, maize is used. As a main food or staple food of Mexico various types of food items are prepared by maize.
Maize provides same energy in proportion to rice but maize ( protein 9.4g/100g) provides more protein than rice ( 7.1g/100g ). We get more magnesium from maize ( 120 mg /100 gm ) than rice ( 25 mg /100 gm ). Over all maize provides a balance nutrient than any other crops. Wheat is only one competitor of maize in contrast of nutrient.

One cup of sweet corn contains-
125 calories,
5 g of protein,
2.9 g of dietary fiber
27 g of energy-providing carbohydrates
1.9 g of fat includes no cholesterol
1.4 g of healthy unsaturated fats.
10 mg of vitamin C
B vitamins except vitamin B-12
0.23 mg of thiamine
0.08 mg of riboflavin
2.56 mg of niacin
0.14 mg of vitamin B-6 and 61 mcg of folate
a small amount of vitamins E and K
271 IU of vitamin A ( white corn only has 2 IU)

One serving contains -
3 mg of calcium
0.8 mg of iron
129 mg of phosphorus
392 mg of potassium
0.24 mg of the trace mineral manganese
0.84 g of omega-6 and 0.025 g of omega-3

So maize is a very important crop that can insure not only our food security but also nutrient security.

For the high nutrient value of maize or corn, now poultry feed, dairy feed and fish feed are mixed with or prepare with maize.

Types of Maize

Maize is a important agronomic crop. It is grow all over the world through the year round. It is main food of many countries. Production of maize or corn is increasing day by day in world because of it's various uses. Maize not only use as a staple food but also used as poultry feed, fish feed, dairy feed etc. After harvesting maize the maize plant is used as compost or mulching material or dairy feed.

Maze can be classified on base of endosperm. In this type they  are 7 types.
1. Dent Corn : It's external appearance is as teeth due to groove created by drying of soft starch. Grain color yellow, white or reddish. Various types of food is prepared from it's flour. Corn chips is produced from this maize.

2. Flint Corn : It's grain surface is round, hard grain, insect resistant, low plant height, grain arranged in 8 rows, narrow cob. Pop corn is produced from flint corn. This corn is better for making hominy. Is is staple food of America.

3. Sweet Corn : It's grains are wrinkled, higher sugar content. It is roasted to consume when it is in immature stage. Cooked sweet corn provides anti-cancer properties by increasing ferulic acid level in our body.

4. Pop Corn : It is known to all. Grain size small, hard grain, used as popping, grain color yellow, sometimes reddish, bluish or brownish, lower plant height etc are the characteristics of this crop.

5. Flour Corn : This type is suitable for flour preparation. Grain color is white or bluish.

6. Waxy Corn : It's grain is soft, look like white candle after breaking. Various waxy products are produced from it.

7. Pod Corn : It's each grain is covered by husk so it is not suitable for commercial cultivation. It is a wild variety of maize. So it is used for breeding material.

Chemical composition of tea

Tea is a very popular drink in world. Tea cultivated mainly in hilly where soil is acidic, high humidity ( heavy rainfall ) is present, good drainage facility for water passing away, partially shade is present.

main components of tea are given below:
polyphelonl - 24 to 28%
caffeine 2.5 to 4.5%
protein 18 to 22%
fiber 24 to 28%
carbohydrate 3 to 5%
pectin 5 to 7%

There  are some components which are responsible different test. Such as caffeine is responsible for bitter test, amino acid is responsible for broth-test, theaflavins is  responsible for astringent test, polyphenol is responsible for astringent test and thearubigin is responsible for ashy and slight astringent test.

There are some biochemical compounds that are responsible for different color. Such as carotene  is responsible for yellow color, theaflavins is respomsible for yellowish brown color, pheophytin is responsible for blackish color, thearubigins is responsible reddish brown, pheophorbide is responsible brownish color and flavonol glycosides is responsible for light yellow color.

Why harvesting time of jute is so important?

Jute is one of the main crop of indian sub continent area. Because it is one of the most important cash crop of India and Bangladesh. It is called golden fiber of Bangladesh. More than 80% of the total production of world of jute is done by India and Bangladesh.

Jute is mainly a crop of rain feed area and jute requires little amount of fertilizer to grow. Jute is mainly cultivated for it's fiber which come from it's stem and ribbon ( outer stem of jute ). Jute has various uses such as jute is used to make chief cloth, sacks, bags, best quality industrial yarn, fabric, net etc.

Jute is biodegradable so it is very much environment friendly. So scientist are suggesting us to use jute made products such as jute made bags. Because plastic bag or this type bags are not biodegradable and causes many hazard and causes pollution. But other hand, if we use jute made bag, it dose not pollute the environment as it is biodegradable.

So we must encourage farmer to grow jute.

Harvesting time of jute is very important for getting better fiber from jute. We have to consider the of jute harvesting and we must be conscious about it. We can get higher fiber yield if we harvest jute lately, but the quality of jute fiber will not be better. Because jute fiber become coarse and hard and cutting may also develop at the base of the stem. Cutting make the jute fiber hard, soily and unusable which are not desirable. So we should harvest jute from start of flowering to fruit formation stage ( 120-135 days after sowing). Sometimes urgent harvest may be needed if there is a possibility of heavy rain or flood. Normally corchorus are harvested during July - August and olitorius Aug-Sept.

Fiber Crop : Jute

Fiber crops are crops which are grown for fibers. We get bast fiber from jute.
Jute As A Fiber Crops
family:  Tiliaceae
Scientific name: 1. white jute ( Corchorus capsularis) 2. Tossa jute ( Corchorus olitorius
Jute is environment friendly. Because it is 100% bio degradable and recyclable. Jute has low extensibility and high tensile strength.
Near about 90% jute is produced in India, Bangladesh and Thailand.
Origin: It is believed that Tossa jute is originated from Africa and White jute is originated from Indo-Burma.
Distribution:  India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Brazil, China, Nepal, Vietnam, Japan, Burma, Uzbekistan.
 Difference between C.capsularis and C. olitoriuus :
Height: 1.5 to 3.6m (Corchorus capsularis) and 1.5 to 4.5 m (Corchorus olitorius)
Stem color: full green to dark red (Corchorus capsularis) and green to light or deep red (Corchorus olitorius).
Periderm: periderm resides on the basal portion - called cutting (Corchorus capsularis) and periderm absent or poorly developed (Corchorus olitorius)
Branching: well branched (Corchorus capsularis) and poorly branched (Corchorus olitorius).
Water logging: can withstand water logging in later stage of growth (Corchorus capsularis) and can not (Corchorus olitorius).
Duration: 3-4 months (Corchorus capsularis) and 4-5 months (Corchorus olitorius).
Flower: 0.5cm, yellow to pale yellow (Corchorus capsularis) and 1.0cm, green or colored (Corchorus olitorius).
Ovary: round (Corchorus capsularis) and elongated (Corchorus olitorius).
Anthesis: 1-2hours after sun rise (Corchorus capsularis) and 1hour or less before sun rise (Corchorus olitorius).
Fruit: capsule (Corchorus capsularis) and elongated (Corchorus olitorius).
Seed: per fruit 35-50 seeds, chocolate color, weight 300seeds per gm (Corchorus capsularis) and 127-200 seeds, black color, weight 500seeds per gram (Corchorus olitorius).

 Production Technology
 Adaptation: temp- 24to35 c and RH 90%
Soil: Loam to silt loam ; high, medium high, medium low land; it does not grow well on very light, gravelly, lateritic soil.
Land preparation: 5-6 ploughing followed laddering.
Fertilizer Application: 145-166kg/ha urea, 59kg/ha TSP, 50-80kg/ha MOP for fiber production; 80-100kg/ha urea, 30-40kf/ha TSP, 32-40kg/ha MOP for seed production.
Cow dung  must be applied 10-15 day before final and preparation. Half urea and other fertilizer must be applied 4-5 days before FLP. 6-7 weeks after sowing rest urea must be applied.
Sowing time : Corchorus capsularis - March to April, Corchorus Olitorius - April to first half of May.
Seed Rate : row method: line to line 30cm, plant to plant 7cm- capsularis 6-7.5kg/ha and olitorius- 5-6kg/ha; broadcast method: 10-12.5kg/ha capsalirs, 7.5-9 kg/ha olitorius.

weed control: 2,4,8 weeks after sowing.
Disease and Insect control: By using proper fungicide and insecticide.
Harvesting: Depending on varieties. For fiber 60-120 days after sowing.

Introduction

From the ancient time when people have learn to live in a group, the base of agriculture has established. Civilization and socialization was developing with the development of agriculture. Without the development of agriculture civilization and socialization was not possible from the ancient time. After development of agriculture industrialization was started. Because at beginning of industrialization age the inputs of industries was agricultural products. Still now most of the industrial inputs are agricultural products. Most of the countries of the world depend on the agriculture. No country can develop without giving the importance to agricultural sector.

Only agriculture provides as food and for this reason we can live a peaceful life. Being hunger we cannot live peacefully. So if agricultural research is not done how can the increasing population will live in the world? Every year a huge number of population is increased. So huge food is need every day. To insure food security in world we must be careful in agricultural research and developed countries must help the developing countries and under developed countries.
Agriculture insures nutrient security for us. for this reason many research are running in whole world. Only insuring food security and avoiding nutrient security a nation can produce a gammy nation.
From the ancient time agriculture gives as shelter and no one can refused it.
Agriculture provides the raw materials of cloths.
For producing medicine various medicinal plants are cultivated in whole world. Many farms and industries are existing in this sector in every country.
It has undoubtedly proved th

at no country can be developed without developing it's agricultural sector. All the developed country in the world at first developed it's agriculture than other sector.
I think agriculture is the base of all things. Because food security fully depend on agriculture. when we fulfill our food security than we have to think nutrition security. Nutrition security also fully depend on agriculture. By this way a nation will a healthy nation.

So agriculture is base of all things.
